January Wrap Up

Hey guys

So it's came to the time of month where I talk about the books I've read during said month. So let's get into it.

Smoke and Mirrors by Elly Griffiths
This book was amazingly good! I had no idea where the book was going or who the murder was and I loved it. I don't normally like reading crime/mystery books, but with the help of this book that could change.
There is a series of these books called Stephens and Mephisto Mysteries and you don't necessarily have to read them in order, but it's probably best you do. This one ended up being good the second book and as soon as I finished it, I ordered the first book called The Zig Zag Girl. And I'll definitely be reading the others as well.
I gave this book a 5/5 on Goodreads.

The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher
I love Star Wars and I knew I would love this book too, and I did. I learnt quite a bit while reading this. A few things were about what the service was like but I learnt a lot about Carrie Fisher. I loved Carrie Fisher, I still do actually, but I didn't know a lot about her. So, because of this I understand her as an actual person who didn't have plans on becoming an actress and that it was a coincidence, and not just a pretty face that graced our TV screens.
There were some chapters that's were really long and it made it hard to get into at times. Which is why I've gave it a 4/5 on Goodreads.

The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
This book is amazing! There were so many great stories in here that I sometimes found it hard to put the book down. There were a few that I couldn't really get into and I had trouble putting a picture together in my head, but that was only about 3 stories, so I loved more than I didn't like.
I also love how at the end of every chapter there was a short story/poem to do with something in that story. I was quite sad that I finished it to be honest. But it probably doesn't help that the last line was "and that's the end of the Mowgli stories" (I'm sorry if that was a spoiler or anything, I don't think it is though since it doesn't really give anything away).
Overall I gave this a 4/5 on Goodreads.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
There isn't much I can say about this book that nobody knows already.
But I will say this, it's so much better than the film. There's so many characters in here that you don't get in the film, and it's a shame.
So it's no surprise that I have given this a 5/5 on Goodreads countless of times.

So that's the wrap up for this month. I don't this I did too bad considering 2 were quite longish books.
Also my February TBR will be next.

Till next time
