Small Book Haul + Christmas

Hey guys,

So this month has been very hectic. The build up to Christmas has been very stressful because of the move so I have to buy things and my dad has been giving me hell so this is going to be something light hearted.
I went to a charity shop and got 3 cheap books and I went to Big W and got 1 book before Christmas so that's the haul part then I'll go onto what I got for Christmas. At the end I also have something to say and it would make me very happy if you read it.
So, lets get into it.

So the first book I bought was the one from Big W, and that is:
One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake
This is the sequel to Three Dark Crowns. Since this is a sequel I won't really go into what this book is about, but I am looking forward to reading it.

These next 3 books all cost $1 so I think I hit luck.
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
This is the first book in a Series and it's about. Alyss was destined to become Wonderland'beloved Queen. Until her life was shattered. Seeing her parents killed she seeks refuge in our world. Years later she returns. Her evil aunt now rules the land. Shrieking Seekers command the air. And deep in the darkness something far more frightening is watching. And waiting. Purring with anticipation.
I really enjoy retellings of books I loved as a child so I'm really looking forward to reading this and see what it's like.

Above The Fold by Peter Yeldham
So this is about Luke Elliott and Claudia Marsden who have fallen in love at a perilous time. The Second World War is raging in the Pacific, barbed wire and gun emplacements are strung along the northern beaches in preparation for invasion. As the war moves closer, their 'sextet' of loyal school friends is splintering as individual career dreams are pursued. Luke yearns to be a journalist but a start in newspapers is proving challenging. The war's end unexpectedly provides Luke's big break, but the pursuit of his dream will keep him away from Australia and Claudia, with surprising consequences for them both.
I enjoy reading books about WW1 and 2 so I'm interested to see what this one is like being very Australian post-war and I've never really read much about wars in Australia.

And keeping up with the war theme the next book is:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

(please ignore the partially ripped sticker, it was like that when I got it and it won't come off now)
Everyone should know this book or at least the film by now, I've read this on my tablet but when I saw it I thought it would be nice to have my own physical edition.
But, if you don't know what it's about
Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can’t resist – books. With the help of her accordion-playing foster father, she learns to read and shares her stolen books with her neighbours during bombing raids as well as with the Jewish man hidden in her basement before he is marched to Dachau.

Now it's time for what I got at Christmas. I'll start with the books.

I got the Illustration edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
We all know about this book, or at least the film, so I don't need to go on about what it's about. But I will say that the illustrations are AMAZING!!!

I got Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling.
I have the E-book edition of Little Women and The Jungle Book is a story everyone knows. These editions are so beautiful. my mam and stepdad got me these two as the start of my collection (there is a bunch of these editions for different books) and I'm really looking forward to carrying on buying these.

Now onto the other pieces I got (that's not food. although I got two bags of quavers which I was really happy about because that's all I've been craving since I've moved)

Two Pop Funko figures Belle and The Beast because you can't have one without the other.

A mini Frodo Pop Key ring. So that makes 6 1/2 Pop Funko figures I have.

A brush that straightens your hair at the same time because my hair never knows what to do

A reindeer that poops jelly beans called a Super Dooper Reindeer Pooper, which I think is amazing.

And a Doctor Who 2018 Calendar

And as I say, apart from food that's it for what I got for Christmas.

Now, it's the something i want you to read part. My friend Chloe (I've mentioned her before) not only has a blog but a YouTube channel as well. She really like singing and writing her own songs (and she's really good at it) and, as one of her friends I thought it's only right to send people over to her channel.
She's not very well known but she should be! So I'm going to leave the link to her last video and her channel, so you have an option, but also of her blog because that's awesome to.
Anyway, that's all there is today, I should be posting again soon (most likely a New Years book tag).
But please! Listen to my friend and give her support, she deserves it because she's amazing at what she does!
Till next time
