Wuthering Heights Book Talk *Non-Spoiler*
Hey guys
I'm going to be doing another book talk today, and it's going to be about Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Wuthering Heights is a classic romance book about an intense and almost demonic love between two characters called Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, who was found by Catherine's father, Mr Earnshaw. This is one of the reasons why Heathcliff is bullied by Catherine's brother, Hindley, after Mr Earnshaw's death. He also believes that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, which in fact, is not true. So, because of this he decides to leave Wuthering Heights.
A few years pass and Heathcliff returns, only this time he is a wealthy polished man, much different than when he was a boy. But instead of chasing after Catherine, he plans on revenge for his former miseries.
My friend let me borrow this book in 2015 and I loved it.
It was a hard book to get into at first so I put it down and read The Hobbit. And I'm glad I did because once I finished that I wanted to read another book, so I decided to try Wuthering Heights again. And once I did, I didn't want to put it down.

It took me 4 days to read because I wasn't quite used to the writing style since I was just starting to read classics.
I read the first half in 2 days while I was staying at my grandads and read a short amount on the bus going back to my mams and the rest when I locked myself in my room. I stayed up till 2am so I could see how it ended, but I didn't want it to finish.
It did take me less time to read the second time I read it as I was used to writing style then.

As I just mentioned, I read it again at the start if last year, and I just fell more in love with it.
Romance is one of my least favourite genres (don't get me wrong, I love a good ship/otp) but when I read books like this, I forget about that.
The relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff is so toxic and unhealthy it makes the romance so much better than a typical love story. They seek and destroy and act with no thought of any consequences. They aren't the lovey dovey characters that people strive to be like, but are monstrous, unlikable people that are amazing protagonists because of that very reason. They are different and unique.

I had to admit that I had to stop myself from screaming when one of the characters did something stupid (which was more than a few times). But that's what made the book great for me, because getting invested into a book to the point where you are physically and emotionally screaming shows that it is written amazingly. No one expects what's coming, it keeps you on your toes, and I love that because sometimes, knowing the end can spoil the rest of the book because you know what's coming.
I know that I'm going on about how much I love this book, so you would think that it's a 5/5 stars, but it's not. Because it took me a while to get into it, I gave it a 4/5 on Goodreads, which is still a good mark in my opinion.
This is a non spoiler so I'm going to end it here in case I give anything major away, which I know I will if I keep going.
SO, if you've read it tell me your opinion!
