February Wrap Up

Hey guys

I have been in the worst slump this month, so I've decided to add in something else with this post. But first, the wrap up.

The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths
This book wasn't as good as Smoke & Mirrors, but I still loved it.
I found the first half to be quite slow. People were just getting murdered and I didn't feel like they were making any progress in finding out who the killer was. But then the second part came and it finally started picking the pace up. Then there was the ending, OH MY GOD! If it wasn't for the second half, it would have got 3/5 stars. But I ended up loving it once I put the book down.
I gave it a 4/5 on Goodreads. If you want to find out more, click here for a full (spoiler) review on it.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
I wanted this book since I read Fangirl and I was not disappointed. It's so good and I'm also glad it's set in England! This is simply because I know where places are (my home town was mentioned!) and I understand the slang. Then there was this line:
"I let myself slip away...
Just to stay sane. Just to get through it.
And when I felt myself slipping too far, I held on to the one thing I'm always sure of-
Blue eyes.
Bronze curls.
The fact that Simon Snow is the most powerful magician alive. That nothing can hurt him, not even me.
That Simon Snow is alive.
And I'm hopelessly in love with him"
IT KILLS ME! I knew it was coming and I was looking forward to it but I didn't think I'd love it so much. When I'm feeling down, I read that and it cheers me up! I was smiling like an idiot just typing it up! When I read it for the first time I squealed like an idiot. Baz and Simon are my biggest Ship/OTP and I squeal again at the thought of them. I'm not ashamed to admit it.
And I was so surprised at the ending! I was not expecting the ending that happened, I was expecting something completely different!
It's no surprise I gave this book 5/5 on Goodreads.

Now it's time for the other post type thing. I'm great at wording things aren't I? And this will be a haul!

Funny enough the first book I got this month was...
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I got this at the start of the month. I was looking for this or The Graveyard Book and I only saw this! I'm really glad I did because I've been wanting to read it for ages.
Half the time, Simon can't even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor's avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there's a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon's face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were even here - it's their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon's infuriating nemesis didn't even bother to show up.

The next one I bought was...
Everless by Sara Holland
I got this at the airport when I was going on my two day holiday. I never planned to buy a book, but here we are. This is what it is about:
In the land of Sempera, the rich control everything- even time. Ever since the age of alchemy and sorcery, hours, days and years have been extracted from blood and bound to iron coins. The rich live for centuries; the poor bleed themselves dry.
Jules and her father are behind on their rent and low on hours. To stop him from draining himself to clear their debts, Jules takes a job at Everless, the grand estate of the cruel Gerling family.
There, Jules encounters danger and temptation in the guise of the Gerling Heir, Roan, who is soon to be married. But the web of secrets at Everless stretches beyond her desire, and the truths she must uncover will change her life forever.... and possibly the future of time itself.
I'm really looking forward to reading this, it sounds very good, and Stephanie Garber (the author of Caraval (my favourite book)) has said that it's amazing, which adds to my want to read it. And look how pretty the cover is!

That's it, I hope you likes the posts this past month. I enjoyed making them.
Till next month Byeeeeeeeeee
