Books For Reading Slumps

Hey guys

Since I was in a huge reading slump, I thought this was a perfect thing to post!

The first one is... Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K.Rowling
I find this perfect to get out of a reading slump. It's short, fast paced with an amazing story line. This book got so many people into reading it's hard for it not to help anyone out of a slump (did I word that right? I don't know how to word sometimes  (that's a crying laughing face if it doesn't show up for you)). It has funny, courageous, and endearing characters that you can't help but love. There just isn't enough words in the English dictionary to praise this book with.
To go along with the Harry Potter theme. I've also chose The Hogwarts Library book set. Which includes:
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them
Quidditch Through The Ages
The Tales Of Beedle The Bard
These are great for reading slumps because they are short and fun. Two are text book type books and one is a bunch of short stories, so it's easy to just read sections of all three.

The next bunch I've picked are by the same author. And they are...
Any book by Roald Dahl
I find reading children books is quite fun now and I can't think of a better children's author than Roald Dahl. I haven't read all of his book unfortunately, but the ones I have read are amazing and fun. I can never get bored of them. My personal favourites are James And The Giant Peach, and The Twits. There isn't a Roald Dahl book that can't crack me up.

This one is for any Disney fans out there... Isle Of The Lost by Melissa De La Cruz
I love Disney movies. They have so much in them that it's hard to get bored of them. My favourite is either Sleeping Beauty, Tangled or The Nightmare Before Christmas. And the villains in the movies are brilliant. So what could be wrong with this book? It's a land where all the stories are together, it's about their sons and daughters, and it's centred around villains! There's three of these books, which is perfect because they are stories that work as either a book or a movie. Keep in mind that if you do read it, it's written for middle graders so the writing style might not be what you're used to.

The Witch And Wizard by James Patterson
I haven't picked this because it's short, it's because of the concept. There's a lot of books that have witch craft in them, but they can be more for  children. This one isn't. It's a fast paced story that can get anyone to read it. Plus the chapters are really short, which is great because it makes you feel like you've read a lot. The writing isn't too advanced I must admit but the story line is still great and enjoyable.

These next two are if you have a certain interest.
The first one is if you you like Doctor Who...
How To Be A Time Lord
This is a super quick read, I read it in about 5 hours. It's basically a text book that 11 wrote before he regenerated, for 12 about how to be The Doctor. It's full of information that'll help 12 understand who he is as a person and what his past selves used to be like. It also has some fun stuff in it for the reader, like what your Time Lord name would be. There are some negative reviews about it on Goodreads, but after reading through them I found they were expecting "advanced" writing, which is a bit of a stupid thing to think if you flicked through it. If you know, and you should, that it's just something stupid for the fans to read, you really enjoy it.

This last one is if you like the two YouTubers Dan Howell and Phil Lester...
The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire by Dan and Phil (surprisingly enough)
I read this in a day and a half. It it stupidly funny, funnily stupid (see I can word good) and quick. It has information about them, stories the two have shared, and conversations, as well as what their favourite emojis are. If I'm bored I like to just read snippets of the book. It's great to get you out of a funk. It's interesting because it lets the reader get to know Dan and Phil more. You get to see them being themselves during this entire book, during the "conversations" you hear their voices in your head.

Well, that's it. I hope it helps if you are ever in a funk. I like to keep this list in my mind whenever I struggle with a slump. Let's hope that I don't get stuck in another one for a while.

Till next time
