Disney Songs To Books + Other

Hey guys

Disney songs are my favourite songs, there's no doubt about it. And I also love books (who would have guessed). So I thought I'd combine the two together and make this post! I also have something I need to talk to you guys about at the end.

So I have 4 songs to books to show you, for each song I will put the video with it. What I've done is took some lyrics of all the songs and chosen a book that best fits them then explain why. Easy peasy!

Edit: Proof reading through this post I realised that it's more Disney Lyrics to books but I'm too lazy to change it now. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

The first one is: A Whole New World from Aladdin

I've chosen Caraval by Stephanie Garber

I chose this because these lyrics are basically describing what Caraval is. It's full of magic and excitement, it really is a whole new world. Scarlett is used to a trapped and isolated life on the Conquered Isle Of Trisda and when she's at Caraval it's nothing close to what she's used to. She's even amazed that the sand on the island where Caraval looks so soft and inviting, because she is so used to the cold black sand that resides on her home land.

I've picked The Art Of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

I've picked this because David hides from everyone in school,including his parents. He knows he should be a he, but a she and only two people know this. She feels like she's hiding behind a mask that shouldn't be there in the first place.

My third song is I See The Light from Tangled

For this I've gone with Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone by J.K.Rowling

This is my reasoning: Since Harry was a baby he saw his cousin (Dudley) get all of these amazing things and he got spoilt off of his aunt and uncle (Petunia and Vernon), and Harry was never able to experience that. Then he went to Hogwarts, and he made new friends that wouldn't be ashamed of being around him or scared that Dudley would beat them up for it. People were nice to him and it made him feel great, he understands that Hogwarts is his home, he doesn't have be trapped under some stairs all year round. He's where he belongs.

The last song for this is Almost There from The Princess And The Frog

"People down here think I'm crazy, but I don't care

There's ain't nothing gonna stop me now, cause I'm almost there"

The book for this is Alice's Adventures In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

I've chosen this book because it's pretty easy to tell that Alice finds her life boring but no one lets her do what she wants to do. And then she's in Wonderland, a place where nothing is boring, a place where she doesn't have to listen to her sister read a boring book to her when she could be doing something fun. Yes, she faces challenges but she over comes them and loves Wonderland.

And like I said at the start of this post I have something I need to talk to you about, it is something unbook related and I'd really appreciate it it you read it. I'm just going to get into it.

Okay so I started talking to someone on Quotev called Jaysea a while ago because she saw that I liked Teenage Mutant Turtles. She sent me a link to a petition of hers, which was about trying to get the writers of TMNT 2012 TV Series to lessen the romance in the show. And I'd just like to say that I agree because it's not a show based on romance and all of these children watching might end up thinking that they need to be in a relationship to be happy, and that's not healthy. Anyway, we started just generally talking and she's really nice. She has a Wattpad and Quotev account where she has posted different stories as well as some of her drawings of original characters with a little twist and her OCs and her drawings are really good! So I'm going to post a bunch of links because she needs the support. I'd also like to say if you agree with what we think the petition is completely free and if you don't want it to be under your name there is a box you can tick. It would make me really happy is you could check out the links!
