The Graveyard Book Book Talk *Non-Spoiler*
Hey guys
Yeyyy another spoiler free book talk! This one is going to be about The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman if you couldn't tell by the title.
The Graveyard Book is a YA fantasy about the events after a murder of an entire family except one baby boy. The toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of there own, where he gains two new ghostly parents. This boys name is Nobody, known by Bod by his friends. He is as normal as a boy can be who has been raised and educated by ghosts, he also has a solitary guardian called Silas who belongs to neither the world of the living or the dead. What could be so bad about this? Well if he leaves the graveyard (which protects Bod) he will be in anger of being attacked by The Man Jack (or Jack Frost (he'll do more than nip at your nose). And this man is the person responsible for Bod having no living parents.
I read this book at the end of October 2016 and I really want to read it again. Unfortunately I don't own a physical copy of this so I read it on my tablet, but luckily I still get to see the illustrations (I've decided that I'll show you the illustrations).
Look how awesome these illustrations are! I'm a sucker for illustrations and this book uses that to its advantage. It did take me a while to read this because school was an absolute nightmare.
I love this book so much, there's so much going on throughout it that you can't get bored of reading it. It's so well written with mystery and action and feeling, Neil Gaiman really knows how to write great stories! The end was so emotional I was tearing up, when I read it again I don't know how I'm going to cope with the feels. But that just shows that it's a good book.
Each chapter is a different story about Nobody's adventures in the Graveyard. But all of these stories end help make the ending make sense. You may be like "doesn't that happen in every book?" and it'll just be because I'm not wording it correctly. So once one chapter ends its not mentioned throughout the book until it reaches the end where they finally all link together. What I also like about this book is that you get some chapters in The Man Jack's (the murder (don't worry that's not a spoiler)) point of view, and in my opinion it makes the story more interesting because you get to see the /murderer society (I can't remember the name) he's apart of.
When I finished reading this I talked about it so much I ended up getting my friend to read it. Now she loves it as much I do. Which is great because of I ever need to talk to someone about it I have her.
I've already said this but I'm saying it again. Neil Gaiman writes amazing books, and this is definitely one of them! If this was to be turned into a movie (which it should) I should be direct it like he did with Caroline, and I think it would be cool if he did it in the same style because I think it would go along with what the illustrations are, and while watching it you'll be able to see the characters you imagine in your head come to life.

It'll come to no surprise that I gave this book 5/5 on Goodreads. And I have a message for anyone who hasn't read it: READ IT!
I'm going to leave this here in case I get too carried away and start spoiling things.
