Top 5 Wednesday + Birthday Haul

Hey guys,

It's that time of month again.... Top 5 Wednesday. This week it's Favourite Science Fiction and Fantasy in Other Media (e.g. Movies, TV shows, games, anime, etc...). I don't really watch Anime and the games I play are more in the action section. So for me this is basically Top 5 si-fi and fantasy movies and TV shows. These are going to be in order.
Coming in at number 5 is:
The 100
So the premise of this TV show is that a nuclear Armageddon destroyed civilisation on Earth, the only survivors are those who were on the 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time. Three generations later, the 4000 survivors living on a space ark of linked stations see their resources dwindle and face draconian measures established to ensure humanity's future. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark's leaders send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability.
When I first watched this, 2 seasons were already out and the 3rd was "coming soon". I'm not joking when I say this, I binged the 2 seasons in one weekend! I couldn't get enough of it! I loved it. There was so much going on, I couldn't stop watching it. I watched half of season 3 when it finally came out, but I couldn't get into it, it wasn't what it used to be, so I stopped watching it. But seasons 1&2 are still one of my favourite things to watch, which is why it goes here. I do plan on trying to re-watch it all again.

Now at number 4 is:
Power Rangers

You should already know what this is about, but I'll tell you just in case. This takes place in a fictional town called Angel Grove. On an exploratory mission, two astronauts discover an extraterrestrial container (also known as the dumpster because of the smell) and breach the unit, inadvertently releasing the bad guy (woman) Rita for 10,000 years of confinement. She and her army of evil space aliens set their sights on conquering the nearest planet, which happens to be earth. Zordon (who is responsible for Rita's confinement as well as the two being enemies), becomes aware of her release and orders his robotic assistant Alpha 5 to select five "teenagers with attitude" to defend Earth from Rita's attacks. The five that are chosen are: Jason, Kimberly, Zack, Trini and Billy. Zordon gives the the ability to transorm into a fighting force known as the Power Rangers; providing them with an arsenal of weapons at their disposal, as well as colossal assault machines called Zords, which can combine into a giant humanoid machine known as the Magazord.
I know that this sounds like the new movie and that's because the movie was based off of the Power Rangers I'm on about (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), which was a TV series with 3 seasons.
I grew up on this TV show! Me and my next door neighbour always watched it together. I mainly went to his, went upstairs with him and when the theme song came on we'd put the volume on Max and dance around to it. We were complete dorks! So I was really excited when the live action film was released. Obviously the TV show is better, so I'm having the show come in number 4 not the movie.

At number 3: Marvel
I found it really hard to pick what Marvel movie I prefer. But once I narrowed it down to the Avengers universe, it became more hard... That's what she said... I'm so sorry! Then, I finally picked one (after a very long argument in my head). I chose Captain America Civil War.
My reasoning for this is because there is a lot of stuff going on. There's the whole Wanda drama and Bucky drama (he just wanted to buy plumbs!). Then you see two new characters introduced: Black Panther and Tom Holland's Spider man, as well as seeing more Ant Man (who is hilarious). Although I know Infinity War will be my favourite once both parts are out.
In this (just in case you've been living under a rock) political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Steve (Captain America) believes superheros should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Tony (Iron Man) sharply disagrees and supports oversight.

Coming down to number 2:
Star Wars
Again, just like Marvel, it took me a while to decide which one out of the 8 I prefer. I knew Episode I was definitely not it because it's the worst one, and I can't stand Jar Jar Binks, so that ruled out Episode II. That ruled 2 movies out, but that still left 6 to choose from. Because of the way my dad made me what the series when I was younger (from the order they were made), I knew it had to be one of the originals for this spot. Even though Episode V is my dads favourite, it is my least favourite of the 3, so that ones out. Then I made my mind up, and I have picked:
Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi
This might be spoilery if you haven't watched it, so be prepared. Luke Skywalker battles horrible Jabba the Hut and Darth Vader to save his comrades in the Rebel Alliance and triumph over the Galactic Empire. Han Solo and Princess Leia reaffirm their love and team with Chewbacca, Lando Calarissian, the Ewoks and the androids C-3PO and R2-D2 to aid in the disruption of the Dark Side and the defeat of the evil emperor.
I don't know why I love this one the most. I think it's because you see a better relationship between Han and Leia, as well as Leia and Luke, then Luke and Darth Vader. I prefer the original edition of this where it's unaltered because it's showing the man who was the original Darth Vader. Obi Wan dies when he was old as well but he didn't return as Ewan McGregor!

Now for the top spot (drum roll)! .

DOCTOR WHO
This is about an eccentric yet compassionate alien (Time Lord) who travels through time and space to solve problems and battle injustice across the universe (with the help of his companions) in a blue space ship called the TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space), which is old and occasionally unreliable (but it/she always takes him (now she) where he needs to be), it resembles a police phone box (but changes its appearance depending on its surrounding (not anymore because the chameleon circuit is broken)) and is much, much, MUCH bigger on the inside.
I have watched this show since I was 5 years old, I'm now 18 (as of March 18th), so that'll be 13 years on March 26th, how cool is that! Christopher Eccleston isn't my favourite Doctor, but he's my Doctor. He got me into Doctor Who and I will forever be grateful for that and I'm disappointed he only got 1 season. Each we had a important message in it, and because of that, Doctor Who has shaped me to be the person I am today! Also, I don't care what anyone says, I'm looking forward to Jodie Whittaker's Doctor!

And that's it for the Top 5 Wednesday. Now onto the second part.
It was my birthday on Sunday (happy birthday to me). So, I've decided to show you what I got I've decided to show them in the order I opened them.

The Marauders Map Wall Plate
My mam was trying to find an actual Marauders Map but she couldn't so she got this instead. And I love it. In the house we are in is just for rent so once we buy a house I'll stick it on my wall.

Then I got two Pop Funkos. Harley Quinn and The Joker
I remember my stepdad said something about these black and white ones being limited edition or something. I'm not too sure but I love them. I'm happy I now have two different Jokers. They'll go nicely with my collection.

Ultimate Star Wars by Ryder Windham
This is basically the ultimate Star Wars guide for any fan of the franchise. It is beautifully illustrated and is packed with information about every single character through detailed analyses of their stories throughout the saga. It's been written in chronological order to followe the whole story or dive in and out to relive memorable moments, key battles and iconic characters.
Obviously I love Star Wars so I was very happy when I got this. I'm not going to read it all at once, just bits at a time. I'm looking forward to finding out new information about one of my favourite films!

Sense And Sensibility by Jane Austen
Marianne Dashwood wears her heart on her sleeve, and when she falls in love with the dashing but unsuitable John Willoughby she ignores her sister Elinor's warning that her impulsive behaviour leaves her open to gossip and innuendo. Meanwhile Elinor, always sensitive to social convention, is struggling to conceal her own romantic disappointment, even from those closest to her. Through their parallel experience of love - and its threatened loss - the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find personal happiness in a society where status and money govern the rules of love.
This is another World Cloud Classic and it's beautiful. I think it may even top my Little Women edition! I love the pink against the blue. I'm looking forward to reading this, as I haven't actually read this book yet.

Harry Potter glass
It was my 18th so my mam decided to get me my own wine glass and she got me a Harry Potter one. I don't know if you can tell but it's grey. So when you pour in a cool liquid the colours will appear, which I think is awesome!

A Golden Snitch
This is the last of the Harry Potter things I got for my birthday. I really like this! It's only plastic but you can't really tell. It came with a sticker book which I have propped open on the Hufflepuff page and have placed it with my Harry Potter books. I now have quite the Harry Potter collection. The snitch goes very nicely with my Time Turner that I got the at the beginning of last year from the Harry Potter shop in Kings Cross.

And lastly some Bluetooth Headphones
There's not much to really say about these. My last headphones broke so I was in need of new ones because my wired ones were slowly dying on me too. They're very good and comfortable.

That's all the presents I got and I really like them! I'm also going to show you my cake because it's pretty.

Also I got three balloons from the restaurant we went to for my birthday and I had an incident with them in my room.
So I have a big ceiling fan on my bedroom to keep cool, and the balloons (which were helium) were the furthest from the fan. I completely forgot that my fan was on, then I heard a noise and all the balloons were wrapped around my fan.... The result is quite funny
So that happened haha.

So that's it! I hope you liked it. I decided to add my birthday haul in here because I I thought it would be easier.
Fun Fact 1: Remus Lupin is my favourite Marauder
Fun Fact 2: I am a Hufflepuff!!!!

Till next time
