Favourite Fantasy Reads
Hey guys
I've just finished a very heavy fact based book based on real events and it made me realise how much I love fantasy books. So I've decided to do a favourite reads post to give my brain a rest.
The first two books on this list are pretty over used choices, but I can't help what I like. So because of that reason there's just going to be a short description why I liked them.
The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling
I've just finished a very heavy fact based book based on real events and it made me realise how much I love fantasy books. So I've decided to do a favourite reads post to give my brain a rest.
The Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling
It shouldn't really be a surprise why I like this book series! The world is fantastic; the characters are amazing, you can't help falling in love with them all (except for Umbridge). No matter how many times I read for watch this, they always make me feel cosy and at home. Harry Potter is my comfort book(s).
The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson is like Harry Potter and also completely different from Harry Potter. The plot is nothing like Harry Potter and yet the feelings I get when reading this series are the same. Greek Gods have always been s favourite topic of mine, they've always interested, so I automatically liked this series, then I read it and it loved it! The characters are amazing, and then having them be the children of my favourite Greek Gods is fantastic!
There is the two most obvious ones out of the way, so hopefully this post will be a little bit more original.
My next favourite one is:
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
I'm going to admit that I didn't read finish reading the book before the movie came out. I only read half of it on my tablet, then I watched the movie with my friend when it came out, and it really made me want a physical copy of the book. The story line is so amazing, it blew me away, and then there was the photos to go along with the book, which made it 10x more amazing. I bought the next two books very quickly and it didn't take me long to finish them, which was very disappointing because I didn't want it to end!
Lord Of The Rings/The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
I ended up reading The Lord Of The Rings trilogy long before I read The Hobbit. And I'm glad I did because it really got me looking forward to being in Middle Earth for a second (or fourth depending on how you look at it) time! I'm quite tall, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to live in The Shire with Merry and Pippin. I would love to be best friends with them because life would never be boring. And if I lived in The Hobbit time, I would like to think that I'd be friends with Kili and Fili, but because I'm so socially awkward I probably wouldn't even be part of the adventure. I just really wish that the unevil part of Middle Earth was real.
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
This is the first Neil Gaiman book I've read. I really love this book! It's so wacky and crazy and dark, it's amazing! I love reading this book during Halloween time because it really sets the mood. If it wasn't for this book, I might have never read The Graveyard Book, and that thought scares me. I did watch the movie before reading the book, but I was 9. Me and an old friend went to go see it for her 10th birthday in 3D when it came out. We thought it's be a cool movie to watch for a 10th birthday. Mt friend wasn't amused, it probable didn't help that it was in 3D. She liked it, she just kept saying that she was deceived.
Fun Fact: Coraline was he first Tim Burton movie I ever watched, little did I know that he would make some of my favourite movies of all time!
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
How could I not have this book on the list? It's so amazing and beautiful! the lessons this book teaches you are so powerful, they leave a mark after you've read it. You get to see Bod grow up into a teen from a toddler which means you get to learn things along side him, which you don't get to do in many book. It's so unique and you don't find a lot of books like this, which makes it that little bit more special. I just want to hug this book close to my heart for the rest of my life. It's hard for me not to love a book that Neil Gaiman has wrote.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
So this book is fanfiction for a book series in Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and it's very much like Harry Potter (which, it's meant to). So because I love Fangirl and Harry Potter I knew I would like this, and I was wrong, because I LOVE this book! One of my favourite parts of the book (apart from Baz and Simon because they are obviously my favourite) are the spells. I love how they are so ridiculous, and to activate (or whatever you call it) the spell you say a well known phrase not a word. Whenever there was a romantic moment between Simon and Baz, I was a squealing, fangirling, giggling mess! I'm trying to hold in the fangirling just thinking about it.
And there is my favourite fantasy books! I have a fun unbookish post for Wednesday, so look forward to that!
Till next time
