Talk Time
Hey guys
This isn't going to be my usual tag post. Instead I'm going to go over a few things.
As you have probably noticed last month was bit of a dull month for this blog, I apologise and I'm going to explain why it was. I'm also going to go over what this month is going to be like to do with the posts.
But first, I own you a April Wrap Up, so I'm going to quickly do that :)
The first book I read was:
The Shadow Of The Gallows by Barry Redfern
(pic)
This was a very interesting book. Going into this book I didn't really expect a lot because I had no idea how they'd talk about crime and punishment, but it was quite easy to follow. Some of the reasons why people were punished is very strange and I sometimes found the lengths people would go through to avoid the punishment funny. It is a very short book, but because it was very fact heavy it took me quite a while to read it. Some facts didn't stick in my head but some of my favourite one are so I'm happy with that. I probably won't read it again, but I'm glad I did. I gave this a 3/5 on Goodreads.
The next book I read was:
How To Be A Time Lord by Justin Richards

I was struggling to read after I finished Crime And Punishment so I wanted something short and fun to read, so I decided to read this! I read it in about 2 hours at night and I think it got me back into the swing of reading. It's just a very funny book, the way they've designed the book to make it look like The Doctor wrote in it and wripped it is quite amazing. And the first time I read it, I did actually learn things from it. I decided to keep my rating at 5/5 on Goodreads.
The third book I read was:
Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
(pic)
My mam was watching the two Percy Jackson movies and it made me really want to read the books, so I read the first one. I've read it before and it was just as good as it was the first time. I love how you get all the small interactions between the gods, like the Iris Message, Seeing Ares, and the backfired prank made by Hephaestus. I find it a bit upsetting and annoying that none of these things were in the movie. I kept the rating at 5/5 on Goodreads. I look forward to re-reading The Sea Of Monsters.
Then I finished reading:
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix by J.k.Rowling
(pic)
For some reason in my last wrap up I said that I finished this book, but I didn't, I only read the first 400 pages. So this month I read the remaining 400 pages. It took me a lot less time to read the last half of the book than it did the first half last month. It's not my favourite Harry Potter book but it's Harry Potter so how can I not love it?
I think I did okay for this month, I only read 1 thing that was planned but I don't think that I would have read as much this month if I did that. (that's one of the things I'm going to talk about)
I am currently in the middle of reading two book (I don't know why I'm started another while reading something else).
And these are:
The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare
(pic)
I am currently 163 pages in.
And:
Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince by J.k.Rowling
(pic)
I am currently 149 pages in.
