February TBR

Image
Hey guys With it being February tomorrow, this post is perfect. The first book I'll want to read is: The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths I am already 100 pages into it and I'm really enjoying it. When the the body of a young girl is found cut into 3, DI Stephens recalls a magic trick called the Zig Zag Girl. It's inventor, Max Mephisto, served Edgar in the war. Reluctant to get involved, Max changes his mind when the woman tuns out to be his former stage assistant. Another gruesome death soon follows - and this both Max and Edgar know the victim. The next book is going to be a re-read and that is: The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman I have a goal for me to read at least one e-book a month, so to start it off, I've chose one of my favourites. After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wonders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own. Nobody Owens had a solitary guard...

January Wrap Up

Image
Hey guys So it's came to the time of month where I talk about the books I've read during said month. So let's get into it. Smoke and Mirrors by Elly Griffiths This book was amazingly good! I had no idea where the book was going or who the murder was and I loved it. I don't normally like reading crime/mystery books, but with the help of this book that could change. There is a series of these books called Stephens and Mephisto Mysteries and you don't necessarily have to read them in order, but it's probably best you do. This one ended up being good the second book and as soon as I finished it, I ordered the first book called The Zig Zag Girl. And I'll definitely be reading the others as well. I gave this book a 5/5 on Goodreads. The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher I love Star Wars and I knew I would love this book too, and I did. I learnt quite a bit while reading this. A few things were about what the service was like but I learnt a...

My Bookmark Collection

Image
Hey guys I actually enjoyed making my Mug collection post so, I've decided to show you my mug collection post, so I've decided to shoe you my many bookmarks for a bit of fun. So, I'm just going to get into it.                                                                           Me and my friend Tabbi got a bunch of free Shakespeare bookmarks from my old library. I like them, but the Macbeth one is my favourite because it's my favourite play. I read it for the first time in year 6. My friend Bethany gave me this. She went to Edinburgh and bought a bunch of these for all her friends who like to read. My mam and stepdad went to go see a movie during the time The Hobbit came out and they got a bunch of these for free and gave them to me because she knows I like The Lord...

Wuthering Heights Book Talk *Non-Spoiler*

Image
Hey guys I'm going to be doing another book talk today, and it's going to be about Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte Wuthering Heights is a classic romance book about an intense and almost demonic love between two characters called Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, who was found by Catherine's father, Mr Earnshaw. This is one of the reasons why Heathcliff is bullied by Catherine's brother, Hindley, after Mr Earnshaw's death. He also believes that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, which in fact, is not true. So, because of this he decides to leave Wuthering Heights. A few years pass and Heathcliff returns, only this time he is a wealthy polished man, much different than when he was a boy. But instead of chasing after Catherine, he plans on revenge for his former miseries. My friend let me borrow this book in 2015 and I loved it. It was a hard book to get into at first so I put it down and read The Hobbit. And I'm glad I did because on...

Books For Movie Lovers

Image
Hey guys, I had bit of a film day the other day so I decided to do this type of post. I'm bit of a movie junkie so this post is perfect for me. I hope you like it. Also, I'm going to not give books that have been turned ed into movies, because that's cheating. Which is why I won't be mentioning Harry Potter And The Cursed Child or any other side Harry Potter books. How The Be A Time Lord by Craig Donaghy I know Doctor Who is a TV show but there are movies out there, so I can use this book. It's just a nice short book that the 11th Doctor wrote to help the 12th Doctor how to cope with the change. The Joker: A Celebration Of 75 Years by Bob Kane This is one big comic book and if you love Batman, The Joker or DC in general , there's a hight chance you'll like this. Isle Of The Lost by Melissa De La Cruz If you like the Descendants movies you'll love these books (there are another two books). Whats best is that this is bas...

January TBR

Hey guys, I know that it's a little late in the month to be posting this, but better late than never, am I right. The first book is: Smoke & Mirrors by Elly Griffiths I planned what I was going to read a while ago so I have already read this book. It's really good. I'm not going to get into it because I'm going to talk about it in my Wrap Up. But, I will say that it is a crime book based in Brighton during the winter of 1951. Two children were murdered and while DI Stephens is out looking for the murderer he starts to think that the investigation reminds him of Hansel and Gretel. The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher I am currently reading this book, I only have 26 pages left, so by the time this is posted I'll have finished it. It's basically Carrie Fisher telling us what happened during the filming of Star Wars: A New Hope and how she felt during. There is also snippets in the book from a diary that she kept during the making of ...

Summer Reads Recommendations

Image
Hey guys, I've decided, since it is still technically Summer where I am, I'm going to do a post on books I think are good to read during this time of year. In Aussie land it's Summer during Christmas, so just flip this post to your Summer is it's Winter where you are. So, these are the books that I recommend. I feel like these are good books to enjoy when you want a nice light read because it's too hot to get cosy with a fantasy. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky This is a very short book that is great to read anywhere you go on a Summers day. The story line is brilliant for when your up and about all day. This is one of my personal favourite books. According To YES by Dawn French Just like the book says, "It's like the Vicar Of Dibley without the dog collar", and the Vicar Of Dibley is a great thing to watch during the Summer. So, this book is perfect. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green So this b...
