February Wrap Up

Image
Hey guys I have been in the worst slump this month, so I've decided to add in something else with this post. But first, the wrap up. The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffiths This book wasn't as good as Smoke & Mirrors, but I still loved it. I found the first half to be quite slow. People were just getting murdered and I didn't feel like they were making any progress in finding out who the killer was. But then the second part came and it finally started picking the pace up. Then there was the ending, OH MY GOD! If it wasn't for the second half, it would have got 3/5 stars. But I ended up loving it once I put the book down. I gave it a 4/5 on Goodreads. If you want to find out more, click here  for a full (spoiler) review on it. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell I wanted this book since I read Fangirl and I was not disappointed. It's so good and I'm also glad it's set in England! This is simply because I know where places are (my home town wa...

March TBR

Image
Hey guys It's that time of month again where I tell you my reading plans for next month.  I've been in a huge reading slump this month so my plans for next month are going to be more chilled out so I can catch up in a way. Because I didn't read it this month I'm going to start off with... Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K.Rowling I'm going to start off with this book. A) because it's a huge one so I'll feel somewhat accomplished after I've read it and B) because Harry Potter's are great books to help with reading slumps. Pride And Prejudice And Zombies by Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith This is because for so long I've been wanting to re-read this book and I think now is a good time to do this. So this is the same story line as Pride and Prejudice but it has zombies in. Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and ar...

Top 5 Wednesday

Image
Hey guys I was on Goodreads and I saw the Top 5 Wednesdays so I thought it would be a nice thing for me to do. I'm not going to be doing all of them, I'll just do one a month. So wish me luck for my first ever Top 5 Wednesday. This week I'd favourite romance novels. I'm going to put them in order (number 1 is my most favourite) and hope that I don't change my mind when it's posted! Coming in at number 5 is... Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare I read this in year 10, and I enjoyed it. I love rivalries, there's something about them that hooks me onto the story. I must admit that I don't like that they killed themselves at the end, I know it was because they were in love, but still! Also my love for Shakespeare helped with my love of this. It has some beautiful pieces of poetry in this, which was a nice change from my usual go to genres. Then number 4 is... Me Before You by Jojo Moyes I'm not a big fan of romance boo...

Stephens & Mephisto Mysteries Book Talk *Spoilers*

Image
Hey guys I'm so sorry this is two days late, but this week has been so hectic I haven't had the chance to do much. But it's here now so I hope you enjoy. This is my first spoiler book talk, so I apologise if it's rubbish. For my first one, I am doing 2 books: The Zig Zag Girl and Smoke & Mirrors by Elly Griffiths. There are 4 books in the Stephens & Mephisto Mysteries and I'll review the last two together once I have read them. As you probably remember, I read book 2 before book 1, so I'll be reviewing them in that order as well. Read at your own risk. Smoke & Mirrors This is a historical fiction crime book based in Brighton 1951. And it is about solving the murder of two children (Annie and Mark), they were found under freshly fallen snow. The girls red hair against the white ground with colourful sweets scattered around them, reminded DI Edgar Stephens uncomfortably of Hansel and Gretel. With fairy tales on his mind, he turn...

Disney Movies To Books

Image
Hey guys I've been into Disney Movies for the past week, they're all I've been watching, apart from the occasional horror. Big change of genres, I know haha. So because of my Disney binge faze part 100, I decided to make this. Descendants So this movie is about the children of 4 villains: Carlos son on Cruella De Vil, Jay son of Jafar, Evie daughter of The Evil Queen, and Mal daughter of Maleficent. They live on an island called The Isle Of The Lost, and it's where all the villains were banished to. Then there is Auradon where all the good people live, and the King and Queen are Adam and Belle. Their son, Ben, decides to make a proclamation to give the villain kids a chance of being good, he chooses Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos. Before they 4 leave the Isle, Maleficent has set a task for them. And that's to steal the Fairy Godmothers wand. If you like the film, you'll like... Isle Of The Lost by Melissa De La Cruz This is set just before the...

Pop Funko Collection

Image
Hey guys I've got a few Pop Funkos so I thought I'd share them with you all. I have two that aren't numbered so I'm going to show them, then I'll show the rest. The first one is: Frodo I got him Christmas just been. He's a mini Funko Keyring. I think he's really cute, which is why I don't want to use it incase I damage him in anyway. Frodo isn't necessary my favourite character out of The Lord Of The Rings, my favourites are Merry and Pippin. But I'm glad I got Frodo. The next is: Jillian Holtzmann My stepdad got a Ghostbusters goodies bag from work (it had both DVDs in, this, chocolates, a Ghostbusters sticker book that I love, and a slimmer key-ring). And he doesn't like the new film very much, he's one of them who doesn't think the original should have been remade, so he gave me the bag. I got this before I saw the movie, but I'm glad I got this one because she's my favourite character. If I didn...

Books For Beginners

Image
Hey guys Story time: My mam stopped reading when my Nana passed away, and she really enjoyed reading, so it's upsetting that she has stopped. I keep trying to get her back into reading because it was one of her favourite pass times, which gave me inspiration for this post. Books for beginners! End of story time! I'm just going to get right into it. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky This book is nice and short with a great story inside of it. It's perfect for someone who is beginning high school because then they are in the same mind set as Charlie, who just wants to get through it all. It's a great book for anyone to read for one of their first books. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell The reason why Fangirl is a great book for people who are just getting into reading is because it's not too strong. It's a very light hearted book about someone who doesn't want change. It's also very relatable for people who love to ...

The Goonies Book Tag

Image
Hey guys Sorry this is a day late but mt laptop wouldn't turn on yesterday for me to post this. I was watching The Goonies and I thought I'd do a tag. I couldn't find a Goonies Book Tag so I made my own. But if there already is one, I apologise. 1. Micky When the opportunity comes to an adventure to find Willy's lost treasure and save the Goon Docks, Mikey jumps at the chance. A character who's more than ready to go on an adventure to save the day. I chose Percy Jackson because in the first book he wanted to save his mam and go on this massive quest to the Underworld to get her back. 2. Mouth Talkative and abrasive, Mouth very much lives up to his name. A book that was hyped about and met all of your standards. I'm going to admit that it took me quite awhile to read this, not because I didn't want to, but because I knew I'd cry. And I did. Everyone was going on about how great this book is, and I totally 100% agree w...
